We're All in This Together |
Please help us build a "culture of encounter" by making your donation today to the Diocesan Human Rights Office. Regardless of whether it is $5, $500, or $5000, you have our sincerest gratitude and our most solemn commitment that we will maximize the impact of your gracious sacrifice in our fight to defend the dignity of every human person. Thank you and God bless! |
The mission of the Human Rights Office is carried out by groups who participate in spiritual formation, education, action and advocacy.
Charity and justice are two distinct components of human rights; encompassing compassionate caring for the oppressed, the poor and the vulnerable.
Often a private and individual act of caring is directed toward the effects of social injustice.
While charity deals with immediate needs, justice addresses long-term conditions, promoting social change in institutions, policies and systems.
Justice is public, political, and oriented to collective action for change.
